Hi. I don't know if any of you guys has had this problem.
I often view japanese webpages (Anime! ^_^ ) using the IME language tools from WinXP. The other day i wrote (with the help of an online translator) a letter in japanese (charset: Shift_JIS ), using notepad.
When I tried to open it with HAPedit, all i could see was a bunch of "?????"'s instead of japanese characters.
One funny thing, tho: When i use the Windows IME tool to write, the japanese characters are seen fine as i write the words. But when I press ENTER and the letters get converted to a single japanese word, the evil "???"s strike back.
Any thoughts on this? With notepad and IE6 everything's fine. Do I need to download any special font for writing japanese in HAPEdit?
Please help!

Hi, I did some work on a system for a company in Singapore, I'd say if the HapEdit controls aren't showing the japanese characters, then it probably doesn't support UNICODE.

Hi TrebleSix,

That's right, HAPedit doesn't support UNICODE. But the Rick's trouble is elsewhere; it should be some bad settings of the system; because on my machine I set Japanese charset for font of the code area and it is OK. (Japanase libraries of the Locales Settings Panel must be activated).
