NBA 2k24’s Ultimate-Team-style MyTeam mode is directly carried over from current-gen consoles. In fact, it’s the only mode that allows for crossgen save transfers – yes, you’ll have to start your progress all over in every other mode. Thankfully, this year’s MyTeam retreats from the much-criticized casino theme of last year to a Fortnite-like seasonal structure, but of course, random card packs are still integral to the mode. Personally, I’m going to continue keeping my distance.
And that’s about all there is to say about NBA 2k24…er, for the second time. As you’d expect, there’s plenty of content to work through on next-gen consoles, although the game doesn’t really feel any bigger than past entries in the series. Whether that new $70 price tag is justified, is up to you.
This review was based on a PS5 copy of NBA 2k24 provided by publisher 2K Games. You can grab NBA 2k24 Mamba Forever Edition, which includes a next-gen upgrade, at a discount here.
2K’s next-gen NBA installment, NBA 2k24, is quite massive on Microsoft’s upcoming Xbox Series X.
With storage being limited on the next-gen consoles and the required external storage not coming in cheap, players will want to see compact file sizes for the next-gen titles. While Ubisoft has seemingly managed to get the file size of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla down to current-gen levels, 2K clearly hasn’t as NBA 2k24 weighs in at a monstrous 121.7GB on the Xbox Series X.
The file size was revealed after a Reddit user posted a screenshot of the game’s Xbox Store details. Granted, we’re likely looking at a pre-release version of the game, and chances are that 2K will be releasing an update to cut down on the game’s size.
Hopefully, with the Xbox Series S only having 364GB of available space available for games, the title clocks in more compact. Earlier, Microsoft did state that games can be roughly 30% smaller on the Series S in order to save that precious fast storage. If you want to learn more about NBA 2K24 MT, please visit https://www.nba2king.com/Nba-2k24-Mt.html
