Thread of the message « Synchronize option? »
[Subject] Posted 07/06/2004 at 10:31 by Vincent Down
Hello,

I'm working with HAPedit a lot now, both at work and at home. I have a few projects I'm working on on both computers.
Most of the times I can remember which files I've updated etc, but when I do more I can't.

For example with Macromedia Dreamweaver there is an FTP feature called Synchronize which batch checks local and FTP site files and compares them to see which is newer etc. After the check you'll get a list of files that can be checked to get updated (ftp get or put, depends on which file is newer).

Is a feature like this planned in HAPedit as well? I personally think this should be very handy.
I also saw something with "Multi-user" in the What's New page on the HAPedit website, but I can't find it anywhere in the program.

Thanks as always for the great software!

Greetings,

Vincent Twigt

Yes, I know what you mean.

Yes this is a great feature, but very dangerous when you are sharing a project. Futhermore I never find a serious issue to synchronize clock between two computers.

Yes and No; I planned to introduce in v3.2 something a little bit different: HAPedit will manage a list with modified files and starting FTP Manager, this one will display a message with files to upload. So user will have a way to not forget to upload a file.
This was my idea before your post
You are speaking about to "not forget" to download a file. Interesting.
Let me think more; an issue should be possible.
Well done, guy

You have nothing to do. You install HAPedit anywhere on the local network or on your machine and run. HAPedit will look for its configuration in the "Local Settings" folder; each user has his/her own folder; this is depending on your system login.

One more time, you are welcome.
